As the shiksa wife of 2 Jewish husbands (widowed by one, divorced from and delightfully good friends with the other who is a vegetarian), I came to love the holidays and their special foods. Though brisket is not on our holiday menu, lighting the menorah always is. Thanks for this mouth-watering reminder of a dish I will make again, just not for Hanukkah.
