In a time when cruelty, division, and overwhelm dominate our political landscape, I’m so grateful to be part of a project where lived experience leads the way. I am so honored to get to participate in this endeavor, and I am so grateful to everyone who has shared a story with us. And a huge thanks to all of you who have read sneaker wave stories, mentioned them to your weekend coffee group, passed them along to that one friend at work, and helped elevate and promote this magazine. I hope we all get to keep reading sneaker wave stories for a long time to come.

Want to know what makes a sneaker wave story?
We are hosting our first ever online course!
Join us on Wednesday, February 25th, for the Foundations of Writing a Submission-Ready Story. We’ll examine two sneaker wave essays and go through the nuts and bolts of what captured us in the first read and how we revised them after acceptance. Participants will leave the class with clear and concise action items for how to revise key elements of your own narrative writing.
